Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Negativity (the “Service”), including the web app and iOS app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Service Description
Negativity provides grade calculation tools including a final grade calculator, syllabus grade calculator, and GPA calculator. Core calculator features are available for free. Additional features such as class saving and cross-device sync may require a paid subscription (“Negativity Pro”).
Optional Message Styles
The Service includes optional result-message styles, including a Positive mode and a Negative mode. Negative mode is an optional, user-selected roast-style experience that can include blunt, sarcastic, teasing, or otherwise offensive humor. By selecting or continuing to use Negative mode, you acknowledge that this content is requested by you, is presented for entertainment only, may not be suitable for all audiences, and may be switched off at any time by returning to Positive mode or discontinuing use of the Service.
Assumption of Risk
You voluntarily assume all risks arising from your use of the Service, including any reliance on calculator outputs or exposure to optional message styles and related content. You are solely responsible for deciding whether the Service, including Negative mode content, is appropriate for you.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or use shared screenshots, exports, or generated messages to harass, bully, or target other people.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code comprising the Service are owned by Negativity and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.
Disclaimer
Negativity is a utility tool for personal grade estimation. It is not a substitute for academic advising, counseling, mental health services, or legal advice. Calculator outputs and result messages are informational only. We make no guarantees about accuracy, availability, uninterrupted operation, or alignment with your institution's grading policies. Result messages may be humorous, autogenerated from templates, inaccurate, blunt, or offensive to some users. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Negativity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Service, including any loss of data, loss of goodwill, academic outcomes, emotional distress, offense, reputational harm, or dissatisfaction with the tone or content of result messages, including user-selected Negative mode content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Negativity will have no monetary liability to you of any kind arising out of or relating to the Service. If a complete exclusion of monetary liability is not enforceable under applicable law, then our total aggregate liability will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.
Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and discharge Negativity and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, including claims based on offensive content, emotional distress, reputational harm, academic outcomes, or reliance on outputs or messages generated by the Service.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Negativity and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, actions, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to your use or misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, your sharing or republication of Service outputs or messages, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
Subscriptions and Payments
Negativity Pro subscriptions on iOS are billed through Apple and are subject to Apple's billing, cancellation, and refund policies. Web billing through Stripe is coming soon. There is no live web subscription purchase or web account billing management flow at this time.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
